F3 Foundation exists to: Accelerate F3 Nation’s mission and impact through generosity. A priority for F3 Foundation is making grants to accelerate the LOCAL charitable impact PAX are producing throughout the Nation.

2023 Spring Cycle Timeline:

Grant cycle opens: March 3, 2023
Grant cycle closes: April 30, 2023 at 11:59pm EST*
Applications reviewed/scored: May 1-31, 2023
Grant finalists selected and notified: June 12, 2023

  • PLEASE NOTE: The Invigorate Grant is a competitive application process. Submitting an application does *not* guarantee funding. Grants are made based on the strength of the application and project and subject to resources available.
  • You can now submit a video with your application. This will give the Foundation a better sense of your project. Details provided in application.
  • Programs/projects must have missional alignment with F3 Foundation.
  • New and existing programs/projects are eligible.
  • At least two F3 members must be involved in the program/project.
  • NEW FOR SPRING CYCLE: F3 Foundation has increased its matching grants up to $3,500, per request.
  • $40,000 in matching funds will be available in the 2023 Spring Cycle.
  • Applications are reviewed and scored by the Advisory Council and awarded based on the following criteria:
    1. Missional alignment (including broad and deep PAX involvement and not just writing a check to solve the problem)
    2. Financial viability (clarity on how local funds will be raised and utilized with PAX having “skin in the game”)
    3. Project description (is the ultimate outcome achievable and is success measurable)
    4. Community impact (does it make a difference in the lives of individuals/groups)
    5. Overall application strength

Qualification Guidelines

PLEASE NOTE: 
The Invigorate Grant is a competitive application process. Submitting an application does *not* guarantee funding. Grants are made based on the strength of the application and project and subject to resources available.

In order for an organization, program and/or project to qualify for an F3 Foundation (F3F) Matching Grant it must meet all of the following guidelines:

  • Projects/programs must demonstrate commitment to F3 Foundation’s mission to Accelerate F3 Nation’s mission and impact through generosity.
  • Grants are made to new or existing projects and programs with:
    • A narrow focus
    • A local presence and impact
  • Raise matching funds equivalent to 50% of the total program/project cost. NOTE: F3 Foundation will provide 1:1 matching grants up to $3,500 (e.g. Your program/project budget is $5,000. $3,500 must FIRST be raised then F3F will provide $3,500 in matching funds to selected applicants.)
  • At least two F3 members must be actively involved with and/or a F3 Region must have an ongoing relationship with the organization, project and/or program receiving grant
  • Within 90 days of project completion and not to exceed one year* from date of grant receipt, all funding recipients must submit:
    • A final written report
    • Basic accounting for how funds were utilized
    • A success story and picture depicting impact achieved

      *NOTE: Projects must be completed and final grant report submitted within one year of receiving grant.

Scoring Criteria

Eligibility:

The following are examples that do NOT meet F3 Foundation’s funding priorities:

  • Programs/projects that seek 100% funding from F3 Foundation without raising any funds locally. F3 Foundation provides MATCHING GRANTS only.
  • Individual and/or group fundraising efforts for a nonprofit without active volunteerism and substantial F3 partnership. (e.g. My team is participating in The Human Fund 5K run/walk. Will you help us meet out fundraising goal?)
  • Event sponsorship and/or supporting the operating costs for fundraising events. (e.g. table sponsorship, logo placement)
  • Nonprofit organizations that do NOT have an ongoing partnership with F3 local PAX are not eligible to apply.
  • Operational costs related to an AO’s and/or Region’s 1st and 2nd “F” activities (e.g. Shovel flags/coupons; Coffeeteria/Food).

How to apply for funding:

  1. Review the Qualification Guidelines and Eligibility listed above. If you or your project/program do not meet these standards, F3F will not be able to consider you for funding.
  2. If your project/program fits within our guidelines, F3F invites you to complete a formal application. Applications are accepted within publicized grant cycles throughout the year.
  3. Applications are reviewed and scored quantitatively by members of the F3F Advisory Council and reviewed in conjunction with F3F Executive Director and President. The Executive Director and President make any/all final decisions on grant funds (with the exception of larger grant amounts which require additional approval by F3 leadership).
  4. Grant finalists may be required to have a 1:1 conversation to discuss the proposed program/project prior to final grant decision.
